Big Brother 9 HoH Endurance Competition Live Recap & Spoilers
March 12th, 2008 HoH,Okay, so the live eviction and returning HG twist has been completed. James was evicted. Alex won the most votes to return. Then Big Brother twisted the twist and let the HGs vote James back in over Alex. James is un-evicted. Read all the details here in the BB9 forum.
The HGs are out back now for the first HoH endurance competition of the season. I’ll be recapping it live all night until it’s over. Stay here and refresh to see the updates.

This Big Brother HoH competition is a disco theme. The HGs are hanging on chains with a disco ball at the bottom of each. They are standing on a small disc above the actual disco ball and are lifted into the air.
Here are the rules: They are not allowed to sit or kneel on the disc (which is what they’re standing on) for now. They must stand. Falling off with cause their elimination.
6:00 PM BBT Everyone is still up on the chains.
6:18 PM BBT The feeds finally came on. Adam is already sitting on the side along with Joshuah. Natalie recommends no one “sniff” the bubbles.
6:21 PM BBT Natalie and Chelsia can’t stop talking. Matt is silent and crouching down on the disc. James is talking a little. Sheila is still up as well.
6:24 PM BBT The girls ask James about meeting Julie. He says she was like a robot (like a Chenbot, perhaps??) and that she has really bad acne but covers it up with make-up. He then immediately retracts that and says he’s kidding.
6:27 PM BBT Matt says his ankles are hurting. Sheila is talking like she might give up.
6:28 PM BBT Matt just dropped off. Says he can’t feel his ankles. Current State of Union: James, Chelsia, Natalie, Sharon, & Sheila remain.
6:32 PM BBT Chelsia starts cussing and Sheila tells her to stop because she wants pizza. I’m thinking BB made a deal with them to keep their potty mouths checked tonight for the live feed viewers and they’d be rewarded with pizza.
6:42 PM BBT All those remaining sound and look strong. James is the only guy left. All the women remain.
6:45 PM BBT Sheila says she’s going to throw up because she hasn’t had any food. Sheila drops off.
6:50 PM BBT State of the Union - Sharon, Natalie, Chelsia, & James remain in the competition.
7:10 PM BBT Sharon, Natalie, Chelsia, & James are still up and staying strong.
7:15 PM BBT Ryan is out watching the last 4 competitors. He’s talking to James about how they’ve both come back from the ashes of eviction. I think somebody is a little nervous that James will be coming for revenge.
7:20 PM BBT Still the 4 competitors up there. Natalie keeps making threats that the other HGs better save her some cookies, and Reese’s, and some Starbursts, and some… She goes on and on. Then she starts telling James that she’s happy he’s back.
7:25 PM BBT Matt tells Natalie that if she wins this she’ll get that massage after all.
7:35 PM BBT James looks rough up there. The ladies are going strong.
7:45 PM BBT Everyone is looking for a way to get comfortable. Trying to relax their arms. Natalie tries talking to James, but Sharon quiets her and says James is sleeping (he’s not, but he looks like it).
7:50 PM BBT Natalie can’t shut the heck up. “I can’t just sit here and think.” She starts to talk to James and he asks her to shut up. “I just want to compete right now,” says James. Natalie is being disturbingly annoying. I had to switch to mute and will check back in from minute to minute. Natalie seriously won’t shut the @&!* up and it’s really annoying. Either this is part of her plan or she’s just this annoying…
8:00 PM BBT James is giving Chelsia tips on how to position her feet to take the pressure off. Natalie managed to be quiet for a few minutes.
8:10 PM BBT All quiet on the BB front. Everyone still there, just hanging in. No one looks ready to drop.
8:15 PM BBT Sharon drops. 3 remain: James, Natalie, & Chelsia.

8:20 PM BBT Natalie assures the remaining two (Chelsia & James) that none of them would be her target if she wins. James says it doesn’t matter. Natalie says that Joshuah is her target because of how he berated her.
8:30 PM BBT The final three aren’t talking. Matt is out there shouting encouragements to Natalie.
8:40 PM BBT Matt & Natalie have been out there working on James & Chelsia while the rest of the house eats pizza. M&N try to promise J&C’s safety but they’re still not biting. It’s pretty clear that if Natalie wins she’ll be going after Joshuah for the nasty things he’s said to her.
8:50 PM BBT M&N are still trying to work J&C. Natalie is asking who James wants to get rid of, but he won’t divulge. I’d have to guess that he’d be gunning for Ryan for nominating him. Sheila is inside trying to cover her ass over her voting for the mystery guest (which she seems to know is Alex) instead of to get back James. The remaining competitors are talking about the pattern of the swing movement. They comment that the guy running it must be bored. I highly doubt someone is sitting back there with a joystick. It’s gotta be a programmed motor.
8:53 PM BBT Ryan comes out to announce (on BB’s behalf) that the three remaining competitors can no longer do any squatting. They must stand. Squatting will result in disqualification.
9:00 PM BBT Natalie, Chelsia, & James have just hit the 3-hour mark. They’re all now standing, as the new rule requires, and none of them look like they’re ready to give up.
9:02 PM BBT Scratch that comment on everyone going strong. Chelsia just dropped. She gets a lot of “good job!” praises. It’s now just James and Natalie.
9:05 PM BBT James tells Natalie, “okay, I’ll drop.” Natalie replies, “really?!” “No!” Heck, he even fooled me. James says this could ruin him if he drops. Natalie tells Matt that she isn’t going anywhere, that she isn’t even tired. I’d believe her too. Natalie is looking really, really strong and unphased while James looks like he could pass out at any moment now. I don’t think this will go another 2 hours.
9:20 PM BBT James looks tired. He keeps shifting around and stretching. I’m thinking Natalie just about has this in the bag.
9:30 PM BBT James tells Natalie he’ll go 7 hours (3.5 hrs more). James’ hands are cracking. Natalie tries to persuade him to get down, but he isn’t budging until gravity takes him off that thing.
9:35 PM BBT BB has sped up the movement of the contraption much to Natalie’s delight.
9:45 PM BBT James & Natalie are talking serious deals right now. Matt & Ryan are yelling at her not to take it. Sheila & Chelsia are telling her it’s a good deal. The sound was muffled, but it was something about agreeing to put up one person of his choice. Aww, nuts, James just backed down and said he needs to do it himself. James is getting desperate and won’t last much longer.
9:55 PM BBT Nothing new to report. Both James & Natalie are hanging out but James still looks a lot worse for the wear when compared to Natalie. Neither of them are talking, though James started to sing about people you trust betraying you.
10:00 PM BBT 4-hour mark. Natalie keeps saying, “I just need water.”
10:10 PM BBT James & Natalie are talking deals again. She keeps offering them to him but they haven’t agreed. Wait! Wait! This is getting closer than I thought. Natalie just said, “I’m getting sick.” James replies, “you have to trust me, you have to trust me.”
10:15 PM BBT “I feel like I’m going to vomit,” says Nat. Everyone outside is promising her safety. Wow! I can’t believe this may go to James. I really thought Nat had this one done and done. James offers the deal again and Nat says, “I’m just trying to think.” She’s making terrible sounds. Starting to vomit.
10:16 PM BBT It’s Over!! Natalie got sick, took James’ deal, and jumped off. James is the new HoH!!

I have a question - - going back to the beginning where Jacob told Parker someone in the house sadi he was a snake…I “thought” that when Parker called everyone into the living room they showed a shot of Adam in the diary room talking about how Jacob could have burned him and turned him in for saying it….did Adam say it or Jacob?

I agree that it is predetermined and that BB wants James to win!! I dont think they should have had us vote without telling us that it might not be our choice. Or maybe they should have let the houseguests know that it was Alex we wanted in, then maybe the votes would have been different.

I wonder if they wiil eventually let Alex back in. Maybe there will be another twist. I am upset that they did not listen to america. And have you notice the all of the house guest tend to play this game differently than the other seasons. They all seem to be more staight foward and put all their cards on the table too fast.

Come on guys, it isn’t like James is a bad player. He is one of the few HGs that seems to know how the game is played. I mean I would say that BB wants Ryan to win over James…they did throw that twist in kind of “opportune” for him. But you know what, I think this one is a little bit weaker that the previous. I would say at least the scandal that went down recently with Ryan made the house interesting. Which is a nice turn.

We all need to write and complain to CBS & big brother. They tell us to vote and that “america” will decide who comes back…….all a big lie, why have us vote. I don’t think it is fair for everyone in the game that an evicted HG gets to come back. Not fair at all, at least Ryan should of been given a chance to compete for HOH b/c duh James will go after him. Nonsense!!

Natalie is lucky that she’s not that great of a competitor or else she would be the biggest target.
I like James. He seems like a good guy, and he holds true to his word. Stop whining that BB didn’t let Alex in and put James back. Last season, America had a person playing for them nearly the entire season and we allowed Dick to win, who would have lost half way through the season.

I completely agree with the comments. Tonights episode was a complete joke! Bringing the evicted house guests to the front door of the BB house, telling Alex he was the one chosen by America and then screwing him over by letting the HG’s vote who they want back. I’m sure most people who voted online really thought about who should be given a second chance and then BB decides to have another ‘twist’ to ensure James stayed, completely set up. I will definitely never bother voting again!

You guys are missing the fine print. BB never said vote for who will go back into the house. They always said vote for who you want to have a chance back into the BB house.
It’s like clicking a pop-up ad that says “Click here for a chance to win 2 free iPods!” By clicking, you’re not winning, you’re winning a chance. Yes, that’s a stretch of an analogy, but I think that’s pretty straight forward.
I won’t be surprised if Alex finds his way back into the house after all. BB loves to add people or split the teams up, or keep people from leaving. Every person they add tacks on another week of their show. And it seems like BB9 is one of the only things CBS has going for it right now.

I completely agree, along with the wasteful voting, this season is getting progressively worse with each passing episode. Ratings are down and the blogging isn’t as prevalent as in past seasons. I am extremely disappointed with the BB producers and casting crew.

I’m hoping Nat drops soon. And if she does, I’m guessing James will give the HOH to Chelsia, since he’s got nothing to hang on HOH walls except for pictures of his bike.
I think this competition was built in James’ favor. If he’s biking the world, he obviously has the mental and physical capabilities to hang on to a chain longer than a bikini waitress. I’m hoping it turns out that way.

What do you mean when you say that Matt isn’t a jerk and could take advantage of Natalie (sexually), but hasn’t. He accepted oral sex from her with the comment that “It doesn’t mean anything tomorrow.” To me, that screams of advantageous sexual favors with no clear concern at all with the person he is using. He speaks as if he is a defender of women, but his behavior is far more contradictory to pursuits of women’s rights than having pickle juice thrown on an individual.
I mostly feel that the people in the house this season are all fairly ignorant, with few exceptions. I think it ridiculous how easily they are played by one another and how quickly they forget. But on the whole, i find Matt demonstrated almost despicable and unsavory behavior.

I have to say that although I completely agree that it sucks that America’s votes pretty much meant nothing and was a complete waste of time. I’m also sooooo excited that James is back and still in the house!!!! He’s one of the only people in the house that is playing the game right and I absolutely thinks that he deserves to be there and win the whole thing!

If James wins, it’d be awesome if he put up Matt and Ryan - and then if one of them gets taken off the block, put up Nat in their place. That way, at least there’s 1 less person to deal with.

Shelia was such a jerk since day one. Adam tried to be nice to her and she would blow him off. It was almost like she thought BB was forcing them to get married.
I like Adam a lot. The best thing going for him right now is that Shelia likes him because of the 10,000 dollar thing, and he’s on the fence. He’s friends with James and Chelsia and Matty and Ryan. Matt and Ryan are pretty sure Adam is on their side, but I think he’s calling his own shots.
Back to the HOH comp. I think James has more steam in him than you might think. If he was about to fall, he would have taken that deal with Nat just because it would have been something. But watch me be wrong and James just stepped down as I’m writing this.

Stupid. James should have never been there anyway. He talks about how everyone goes back on their word and betrays trust, yet he was the FIRST person in the house to do it!!! @Sheryl: Last season BB told Eric (in private and off camera, we know this because Eric admitted it post season) that he was not allowed to use the PoV in those final weeks when he won it. Had he used the PoV he would have backdoored Dick and saved himself. By forcefully blocking Eric’s freedom to use the PoV BB directly influenced the game, paving the way for Dick to win it all.

Just want to thank those of you who keep us informed with the spoilers etc… I am pretty disappointed in this season - the whole “couples” thing really never was… I don’t like the fact that Alex got screwed - and I don’t really like that James got back in - but… he is one of the better players.
